Political Activities

The work of the Climate Alliance always has both a practical and a political side.

The Climate Alliance Declaration of Bolzano (2000) stipulates that it is one of the common tasks to exercise influence upon the political bodies in Europe and upon the international community of states in order to advance the implementation of our goals.

In these bodies and in the international forums, we represent the positions of European municipalities committed to climate protection, and support the organisations of indigenous peoples in defining their own positions and conveying them into these processes. The purpose of these efforts is to achieve an internationally coordinated approach, which aims towards sustainability and international equity as well as to advance concrete implementation steps for the individual states which take into account the local and regional levels.
