Joachim Lorenz, Councillor for Health and Environment of the City of Munich and President of Climate Alliance, warmly welcomed the initiative. The Climate Alliance is the European network where adhering cities and municipalities commit to a voluntary target to halve their greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 at the latest. We deeply acknowledge that the European Commission recognises the role of the local level to achieve European targets and welcome this impulse for action on all levels.
