Climate Star 2009: The Short Track to Climate Protection

Under the theme “Short Track to Climate Protection”, Climate Alliance invites all European cities and municipalities to present their climate protection activities and apply for a prestigious Climate Star.

The Climate Star 2009 will award local solutions for the global challenge of climate change. Using less energy, producing energy locally from renewable sources, planning shorter transport distances, promoting walking, cycling or regional goods, …: All innovative local actions in these fields are taking the ‘Short Track to Climate Protection’!
The Climate Star is Climate Alliance’s European Award for local climate protection activities. Together with the Federal State of Lower Austria, Climate Alliance invites all local authorities in Europe to apply for its 4th edition.
Are you using your local potential to protect the climate? Then apply to the Climate Star 2009 to highlight your ambitious actions to tackle climate change.
The winners will be awarded at the prestigious ceremony on 22 October 2009 ath the ‘Stift Melk’, part of the UNESCO world heritage Wachau near Vienna, Austria.
